Anne Peyton has worked in and with not-for-profits for more than thirty years. Her career includes academic and medical librarianship, adventure and experiential education at Hurricane Island Outward Bound, and major gift and campaign fund raising ($200,000 to $200+million). Her work focuses on strategic planning (integrating Appreciative Inquiry, strategy mapping, and McLaughlin's strategic positioning), training on governance and leadership, systems thinking, and quality management. Primary philanthropic services include development assessments, pre-campaign planning studies, and campaign counsel, often bringing in colleagues for big projects.

Anne works with a wide variety of mission-driven not-for-profits: conservation and the environment, youth, special services, education (K-12 public and private and higher education), arts, health care, equine organizations, professional associations, experiential education, and more.

Anne serves on the boards of the Upper Valley Region of the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation and of the Upper Valley Land Trust, is an incorporator for the Visiting Nurse Alliance of New Hampshire and Vermont and an alumna of the Vermont Leadership Institute. She is Chair of the Strafford Conservation Commission, focused on river restoration and wildlife corridors. She has taught at national and regional conferences, for the Association of Fundraising Professionals Northern New England, and for Giving Monadnock in areas of board governance, fundraising, leadership development, strategic planning, and philanthropy.

Anne has a BA in Sociology from American University, an MS in Library Science from Syracuse University, a MS in Organization and Management from Antioch New England, is a Certified Professional Facilitator with the International Association of Facilitators, and a Certified Fund Raising Executive with the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She is certified in Myers Briggs Type Indicator, Strength Deployment Inventory, and CCL's 360 degree feedback. She has been an Emergency Medical Technician and a Wilderness First Responder. She is a charter partner of Appreciative Inquiry Consulting, a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals, and a member of the Association of Philanthropic Counsel. She published "Development Assessment — Ready! Aim! Fire!" in Novom's The Fundraising Feasibility Study, APF/Wiley, 2007.
