You know the expression “Work smarter, not harder”? You know you’re working hard for your clients, but are you working as “smart” as you could be? Most of us are so busy serving our clients that we don’t take time to step back, analyze how we’re managing our practices and look for ways to manage them better.

At APC’s Winter Forum, you’ll learn a variety of skills and strategies for improving your business practices, marketing yourself more effectively, and finding the right balance of time and resources for working your job and building your practice.

We’re very excited this year to launch APC’s Nonprofit Institute. We’ve partnered with selected nonprofit organizations and institutions for a half-day learning laboratory focusing on the critical challenges and opportunities facing our clients.  

Also, we’ll hear from Ellen Bristol, founder of the Bristol Strategy Group and co-author of “Fundraising the SMART Way: Predictable, Consistent Income Growth for Your Charity.” Ellen and her team created the Leaky Bucket Assessment for nonprofits to help them identify and plug the “holes” in their fundraising. During her workshop, tailored specifically to philanthropic counsel, you’ll learn ways to help your clients become more “watertight” – and your practice as well!

Another program we’re excited about is a workshop with Kolbe Corp., a leader in helping professionals discover their strengths by following their instincts. Kolbe WisdomTM gives you knowledge not just about what you do well, but how you do it.  You’ll take the Kolbe ATM assessment prior to the workshop and review your analysis during the session. Learn how to be your best self in all three parts of the mind – thinking, feeling and doing – and how to use that knowledge to be more productive and better serve your clients.
